As we mentioned in our first newsletter this month (are you signed up or nah?), we’ve had a lot of fun working and learning about each of our monthly topics, but mental health was quite something. Your response and the engagement from the community made something super claro: The community is interested and eager to talk about mental health.

From a very exciting commercial featuring a fellow hermana (English) to how beautiful vulnerability can be (Spanish), here are some of the stories and content from this month you should not miss.

Turning Anxiety into Gratitude

There are so many ways in which we can better our mental health, and one that is not often talked about much is practicing gratitude. Shifting how we look at everything that happens during our days, or even moments during our days, into opportunities to be grateful can have profound benefits, including reducing our anxiety.

You have your phone around you all the time, right? Well, maybe the next time you grab it to mindlessly scroll down on Instagram, you can instead write what you are grateful for and see what happens.

You know how cool it is to see a fellow Dominicana proudly telling her story on a spot?

Welmis, contributor and friend of Hola, Rita, proudly highlights her roots while telling her story for Grammarly, a highly popular spell check system. Welmis is also a huge advocate for mental health and shared a little bit of her struggle with bipolar disorder with us this month.

¡VAMO’ A HABLAR!
